Business Travel Wiki
The Business Travel Coalition has launched the first wiki for business travel professionals from around the world to collaborate on proposed public policy, white papers, research project designs and much more. The BTC site at http://btc.editme.com/ is open to all travel industry executives, and is free. All that is required is a simple 10-second registration.
A wiki allows a member to make edits to a document and save them to a new version for others to easily review, add to and otherwise improve. By default, the end product is accurate, comprehensive and peer-reviewed. Members can also create their own wiki page on any business travel-related topic right on the site. For example, a travel manager needing to create a draft Registered Traveler program travel policy could provide an initial draft for others to contribute to. The use of wiki collaboration is limited only by one's imagination and creativity.
At http://btc.editme.com/ we have included these neat collaborations as a start:
Expert Commentary. Where travel industry participants from around the world can contribute articles on issues important to them and the industry. A global travel blog, if you will, where everyone can be an author.
Sources for Reporters. Where travel and consumer business reporters can find industry experts from around the world for use in stories.
Industry Statistics. Where sourced information regarding travel industry facts and figures will be aggregated.
Travel Glossary. Where a repository of industry terms and vernacular is created and continuously expanded for the benefit of travel novices and veterans alike.
Industry Calendar. Where industry participants can post upcoming events with links to registration sites.
Travel Publications. Where members post links to travel publications that they find valuable.
Travel Organizations. Where leading travel associations and groups from around the world are listed and added to by members.
